NILES, Illinois -- Mohawk Mfg. & Supply Co. announced that it has hired Norman Santos as its Regional Sales Manager for the Great Lakes Region.

With more than 25 years experience in mass transit, Santos spent the bulk of his career with the Chicago Transit Authority. Starting in 1987 as an Equipment Engineer, Santos rose through the ranks, eventually serving as Chief Engineer and then General Manager of Bus Engineering  and Technical Services. During his tenure at the CTA, he worked with most of the major North American bus builders, including New Flyer, Nova and NABI.

"Norm understands the challenges maintenance staffs face everyday," said Mohawk Vice President Robert L. Brown. "His vast engineering and materials background will serve his customers well and help demonstrate the value Mohawk brings."

Santos graduated from Purdue University in 1987, with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. He replaced Tom Gramly, who retired April 1 after a distinguished career in the transit bus industry.

The Great Lakes Region comprises all of Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Missouri, as well as eastern Kansas, western Pennsylvania and Buffalo, New York.
