Anticipating the needs and demands of a growing customer base, bus parts supplier Mohawk Mfg. & Supply Co. moved into a more spacious headquarters in Niles, Ill.

The new building, located at 7200 N. Oak Park Ave., is just a block away from the Caldwell Ave. location that was Mohawk's home from September 1980 until 2001. "We wanted it to be in a location as ideal as our current facility on Caldwell Avenue," company president John W Brown said. "It was just our luck that we were able to buy a building a block away."

Mohawk's service to its customers was minimally disrupted as the move started over Memorial Day weekend. Since the buildings are so close to each other, Mohawk remained open during the move.

The new Oak Park Avenue building has a nearly 90,000-square foot warehouse, which is nearly double the size of Mohawk's former Caldwell Avenue facility. This will give Mohawk the capacity to increase inventory and add to its staff of dedicated employees.

"We now have the space to accommodate our growing list of customers and provide them with the quality, service and value they are accustomed to," Brown said.
